Hydra Rapide has a number of features that makes it such an effective treatment against green algae. Firstly it works by locking up the phosphate found in the water which is a key ingredient for algae growth. It also contains a wide spectrum bacteria blend that is purposefully designed to consume the nutrients in the water. Lakes often have high silt levels at the bottom; silt actually continuously releases nutrients, thus contributing to excess amounts building up in your water. The bacteria in silt is anaerobic – anaerobic bacteria grows in the absence of oxygen and is much less efficient than aerobic bacteria. Hydra Rapide actually acts as a slow oxygen release agent that means that the bacteria can grow aerobically and colonise much faster at a more efficient rate. Oxygen will be slowly released over a 4-6 month period, meaning the product will continue working long after you have treated your lake. Lastly, each grain of product contains millions of nano sized holes for the bacteria to colonise, vastly increasing the biological surface area meaning more bacteria and therefore increased efficiency.
